So, what exactly is white water mold?

Despite its name, white water mold is technically a type of naturally occurring fungus (often associated with pink slime) that thrives in damp, dark environments. In a swimming pool, it usually takes root in the plumbing lines, the filter, or behind the skimmer before making its way into the main pool area. Because it builds a heavy protective coating around itself, it is highly resistant to normal, everyday chlorine levels. If you just skim it off the surface, it will keep coming back because the source hasn't been treated.

Step-by-step

01

Add Swamp Treat

Add one (1) bottle of Swamp Treat™ per 20,000 gallons of pool water.

02

Brush the algae

Brush the pool, concentrating on areas with the most algae.

03

Shock

Shock the pool with your choice of chlorine – using about 2 pounds/gallons of chlorine per 10,000 gallons of pool water. Refer to the directions on your chlorine for “super-chlorination” specific dosing.
04

Add Clear Treat

For mild cloudiness, immediately add three (3) ounces of Clear Treat™ per 10,000 gallons of water. For more severe cloudy water you may double or triple the dose.

05

Run the filter

Let the filter run, and backwash/clean the filter as necessary. Refer to the filter manual for recommendations.

Add No Mor Problems

Add No Mor Problems regularly to prevent the algae from returning. Just add 5 ounces each time you replace 2 tablets in your feeder, or each time you add a pound or a gallon of your regular chlorine.
