You'll need two bottles to treat 30,000 gallons. It should help lift the scale. I'd recommend dissolving it first in a bucket of water to get the whole area.

You can use CalTreat with cartridge, it just will remove less (about 50-100ppm). You can get the results you're looking for by using a cellulose filter aid with your cartridge filter.
