Reducing High Alkalinity
The most important part of pool care is water balancing. And two of the most important factors in pool chemistry are pH and Total Alkalinity (TA). But what do you do if you’re pH levels are perfect but the total alkalinity is high?
Usually, you’d add muriatic acid. But this decreases not just the alkalinity level, but pH as well. This means you have to go back and and pH increaser such as Soda Ash. But this also ends up raising alkalinity. This leads to an endless back and forth of adding liquid acid, and adding pH increaser until you hopefully end up with a balanced alkalinity and pH.
The Better Alkalinity Decreaser
Easy Acid™ is a safer and easier Total Alkalinity decreaser than liquid acid. This granular acidic salt reduces pool alkalinity with only mildly lowering pH. This is the perfect solution for when the total alkalinity is too high in pools, but there isn’t a high pH. This eliminates most of the back and forth when balancing your pool.
Safe and Easy
It’s not just more effective than liquid acid, it’s also much safer. The granular salt is fast dissolving, making it safe for pool surfaces. Yet it’s activated by water, making spills easy and fast to clean up. There’s also no fumes, and no skin burns. It’s also easy to use. Using generic test kits, just substitute the recommendation of every 1.5 cup of muriatic acid with one pound of Easy Acid™ (or about 10.5 lbs for 1 gallon of liquid acid).
Eliminate the frustration in how you decrease total alkalinity in pools. Switch to Easy Acid™ and make balancing swimming pool water easy.
